Nancy Kwan is the founder and director of @themedicaregap. She is a senior at Emerson College in Boston, MA, and will be graduating with a B.S. degree in Political Communication and a minor in Health Communication.

Nancy has worked in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid in the Department of Health and Human Services in both Boston, Massachusetts and Washington, DC. Her specialty in Health Communication is increasing health literacy through the use of plain language.

In addition to her experience in our nation's health care system, Nancy is also an avid user of social media, both privately and professionally. She is currently researching how social media are literacy tools for young adults, especially concerning health care.

Through this campaign, she not only encourages people to make more informed decisions about their health, but to also take an active interest in learning more about the continually-changing debate about both Medicare and the general nature of health care in the United States.
