This 13- question poll was conducted between April 18 and 28, 2013 by The Medicare Gap through an online survey distributed by Survey Monkey. The criteria for assessment was the survey being completed in its entirety. The sample size was 61. The margin of error is +/- 12.53%. The results are not weighted.

Question #1: Do you feel that you will have access to Medicare when you retire?
For Question 1, 36% feel that they will have access to Medicare when they retire, as opposed to 19% who do not feel so. 45% of respondents are unsure.
Question #2: Do you believe that Medicare should be continued to be funded as it currently is?
For Question 2, 34% believe that funding for Medicare should be increased and 44% believe it should be decreased. 19% believe that the funding should stay the same and 3% are unsure.
Question #4: Do you believe that Medicare is a significant part of the nation’s overall budget?
For Question 4, 37% believe that Medicare is a significant part of the nation’s overall budget as opposed to 29% who disagree. 34% are unsure.
Question #3: Are you confident in your understanding of the distinction between Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security?
For Question 3, about 68% of respondents were confident in their understanding of the distinction. 18% were slightly confident and 15% were not at all confident.
